WHAT CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT JORDAN ROOF COMPANY

The Bixby Village Community Association (BVCA) includes 300 townhome units and 64 single-family homes located in Long Beach, California. Beginning in 2003, the Jordan Roofing Company was competitively selected to replace our existing shingle roofing material with heavy western red cedar shake roofing material. This $6.5 million dollar project was planned in phases over a 12-year time frame.

For the Board of Directors, the BVCA Common Area Committee (CAC) oversees all projects that are funded with community reserves. As Chair of the CAC, I have personally led the Association’s management of the re-roofing project for the past five years. In 2009, I personally led the effort to recompete the project pursuant to the requirements of our CC&Rs and to conduct a mid-project reassessment. Based on our evaluation criteria (i.e., price, responsiveness to specifications, workmanship quality, schedule performance, financial condition and capability, and past performance), Jordan Roofing was again competitively selected from a field of four for the remaining phases of the project. The final phase of our roofing project will be completed in 2015.

Jordan Roofing Company has consistently met or exceeded our contract performance requirements. Examples include:
Pricing: never exceeded the contract fixed price for labor or materials-no surprises. Timely invoicing.
Schedule: subject to weather, completes the project phase within stated guidelines. Has published a schedule on the website.
Workmanship: maintains core competence ensuring the same skilled labor force and quality are delivered year to year. Ensures work is performed to code. Never lost schedule or required rework arising from Long Beach City inspectors.
Communications: effectively works through the Association and directly with homeowners (when required) to educate homeowners on the roofing process, to minimize disruptions, and for community safety considerations. Easy access to Company principals.
Supervision: an onsite foreman is readily available for daily tag ups, etc.
Clean up: daily cleanups have been excellent.
Workers: respectful, friendly, and accommodating when addressing homeowner needs or workarounds.
Attention to Detail: Excellent responsiveness personally performed and assured by company president and foreman.

Based on my first-hand knowledge of working with Jordan Roofing over the past five years, I have high confidence in recommending them for any project of similar scope and complexity to that of the BVCA. Our community is a standing example for inspection by interested parties.

Sincerely,
David T. Spencer

Bill Jordan Jordan Roof Company 915 W. Collins Ave. Orange, CA 92867 Dear Bill. Re: Contract #03140172
The job is finished! Our House has been crowned with a beautiful new roof, expertly installed by Jordan Roof Co. It makes the house look so much better than the old roof even before that roof was badly damaged by the Mag. 5.1 La Habra Earthquake that hit us in the evening hours of March 21.

We are elated! However, my purpose in writing is not so much about having a beautiful new roof; ather, it is about the JORDAN Roof Crew you sent to install it. You know that I have no expertise in roofing or home building, but I do know when people do an excellent job. Yours’ did! They worked together as a team like a well-oiled machine. They worked quickly, yet carefully, and with obvious attention to detail; they checked their work at day’s end before leaving, making whatever adjustments or improvements they felt were needed, before leaving for the day. In short: they showed themselves to be skilled craftsmen rather than simply ‘workers’.

Now, I am sure that working on any roof in the heat of a summer day is not kids’ play; rather, it can test anyone’s patience. Yet these people were always friendly and courteous when we interacted with one another with a question or information. It was our distinct pleasure to have them do ‘our job’.

Accordingly, I wish to commend their leader, Angel, and every member of his crew for a job well done and for being excellent ambassadors for Jordan Roof Company. In the end, the performance of your team on the job reflects very positively on the one whose company bears his name, and who leads and inspires his people to be the best the can be: that’s YOU! My sweetheart for more than 52 years, Mecki, joins me in expressing our heartfelt thanks to you, Bill, and to your crew for a beautiful job well done.

Most sincerely, Karl G.

This is a letter of reference for Jordan Roofing Company.
In 2009, Lakeview Homeowners Association began research on a project to replace the roofs on all of the buildings in our complex, since the original roofs installed in 1983 were beyond their useful life. Lakeview HOA is comprised of 105 townhomes in 3, 4, and 5 unit structures, plus a pool house, for a total of 27 separate buildings. Although similar, each structure has slightly different architectural elements, especially regarding the roofs. Some are more peaked, others less so, some are gabled, some are not.

In approaching the problem, Lakeview HOA began a lengthy study of the work that needed to be done via a committee comprised of several homeowners with varying and diverse experiences. Initially, six contractors were considered, all of the roofing specialists. Following a thorough investigation, this list was narrowed down to two, one of them Jordan Roofing Company and another roofing contractor that had done repair and maintenance work for our Association. We performed a site investigation on work done by both contractors, visiting locations they worked on, and speaking to residents about their experience with the contractors. All responses were favorable.
When it came time to make a final selection of contractors both bids had a similar composition. One part of the bid was a base cost, the other part of the bid was for extra materials that might be needed once the old roofs were removed (eaves, fascia, plywood). Jordan Roofing Company had a slightly lower base bid but a higher cost for estimated extra materials. In consideration of all elements known to us, we selected Jordan Roofing Company.
Throughout the entire process, Jordan Roofing Company was very thorough and professional. With projects of such scale, there are always problems of one sort or another, but Jordan Roofing Company performed very well and immediately responded to any questions or minor homeowner complaints. Their team worked efficiently and with a minimum of impact to the homeowners. They completed their work exactly as promised and on schedule. They followed up on issues and questions as the work progressed. They did not use anything but top quality materials. They cleaned up very well after work each day.

Since the project was completed, there has not been one homeowner complaint of leaks or inferior workmanship. Personally, I appreciate the fact they are a local family-owned business that has been around for many years. I would not hesitate to recommend Jordan Roofing Company to anyone who required roofing work that needed to be done, from the entire replacement to routine maintenance. Jordan Roofing Company is the number one choice for our Association.

Sincerely,
Bret Rudnick
